Chief Instructor Jamey D. Olsen (J.D.) is a highly motivated, focused, and driven martial artist. He fully understands the meanings of dedication, loyalty, honor, and mission accomplishment. He has executed successful seminars, designed many successful martial art programs and trained many different types of people from kids to forward deployed military members from the United States and our allies in hand to hand combat.
J.D.'s martial arts quest began when he was a young boy.
After watching martial arts legend Bruce Lee doing moves which
seemed to be magical. During his junior and high school years
he earned Black Belts in martial arts styles Tae Kwon Do and Shorei-Ryu Karate.
After graduating high school, he entered the United States Air Force where he has led teams on explosive ordinance detection and chemical warfare units. He was also put in charge of vital tasks where he supervised and coordinated teams on projects that were in direct link to the President of the United States requiring top-level security.

Watching films with martial artist Steven Seagal performing
joint locks and throws that he felt would be a great compliment
to the techniques he already possessed. Desiring to learn Aikido from its place or origin J.D. volunteered to take a military assignment to Tokyo, Japan. While there for almost a decade,
he earned Black Belts in Combative Aikido, Jui-Jitsu Submission Fighting, and
Modern Kali under Martial Arts Unlimited Director A.J. Weimer.
He has been featured on the Armed Forces Network T.V. stations overseas and has also been featured in newspapers around the world for his accomplishments with
self-defense programs, martial arts and the U.S. armed forces.
He has taught self-defense, hand-to-hand combat, aggressor neutralization, to
Law Enforcment, Japanese Defense Force members, correction
officers, doctors, lawyers, bodyguards, amatuer Mixed Martial
Arts (MMA) fighters and U.S. Military Special Operations members. With over
30 years of experience, J.D. Olsen is a true professional
martial artist.

Assistant Instructor Joe Ardis
In December 2009 Joe Weighed in at 380 Lbs.
His life was to the point where a XXXX shirt was becoming too
tight. Joe was winded from walking less than 100 yards.
If he had to climb any stairs or an incline it was a huge battle
and would completely wear him out. As a New Year’s
resolution Joe decided to sign up for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at
Keishidojo Martial Arts & Fitness Center.
“My
first class was tough. Just doing basic exercises made it
hard to breathe, I had trouble physically completing the task; my
body just could not carry itself.”- Joe
For the first time in Joe’s life he refused
to quit. Martial Arts were not going to beat him.
Every item eaten was documented and reviewed every week. It
wasn’t about losing weight any more, it became about becoming a
better person.
“I
remember Joe shrimping for the first time; he moved down to the
end of the mat and was a nice shade of purple. I pulled our
instructor to the side concerned he was having a heart attack!”
~Tank
Joe wanted quicker results, so he decided to
also do the MMA class, morning work-outs and going to the gym
every chance he could. His whole view changed in this time,
and he went from looking at a flight of stairs thinking…”there
just has to be another way than to go up these stairs” to flipping
over 400 Lb. tractor tires just for the fun of it.
Fast forward to December of 2012 and Joe has
managed several major accomplishments. He has lost over 100
lbs. He has also completed three Spartan Races, being one of
two Keishidojo Spartan Tribe Members. He also earned his
purple belt in BJJ. He is the man behind Keishi-Fit, our mix
of Cross-fit, P-90X, and Insanity
with a mixed martial arts twist. Joe has been bitten by the
healthy bug and made more goals for 2013 including to compete in
Tough man competition, run two more Spartan Races, participate in
a ½ ironman trilithon, and loose another 100 lbs. Life has
anything but slowed down, instead it has excelled and he is
meeting the challenges head on. The confidence and skills
obtained at Keishidojo to help him succeed not only in the
athletic world but his relationships and lifestyle has improved
greatly. Joe is currently studying for his instructor
license with a goal to teach and help motivate people to a new
lifestyle where anything is possible.
2012 was a big and eventful year, we are excited to see
what else he will accomplish in 2013.
